For many reasons some of them could not finish their education, some of them could not find respectable jobs. EC NRVP discussed the issue and Mr Sharad Mirani, President NRVP and Mr Sudip Palit, EC member were asked to coordinate with the respected Head Master of the Vidyalaya and try to get a list as soon as possible.
The Praktani Website
Better late than never. We have been trying to upgrade our Praktani website for last one year. We have almost reached the goal. Mr Rajat Bagchi of 1986 batch took the initiative first. But as he was seriously ill Mr Bagchi could not finish his job. NRVP is thankful to Mr Pradyut Majumder(1986), Mr Sudip Palit (1995) and especially Mr Suvadeep Sarkar (1993) to finish the job. We are thankful to Mr Bipradas Bhattyacharya our beloved ex-teacher who has kindly agreed to write the introduction in the Website. Give them a big hand.
Different Chapters of NRVP
I am glad to announce that we have finally opened our Chapters in different regions of India and abroad. NRVP congratulates Mr Sudip Palit (1995) for successfully doing this uphill task.
The UK chapter of NRVP formed in January and at present it has 50 members. USA chapter has been formed, which has over 100 members. Overseas chapters in Canada, Singapore, Malayasia, Europian Union (other than UK) has been formed.
In India National Capital Region (NCR) chapter has 140 members, Mumbai has 102 members, Bengaluru has 108 members, Hyderabad and Pune have 25 members each, Chennai and Siliguri have 6 members each. North east chapter is also being formed. Each Indian chapter (NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru) have four VS-s (1961-79/1980-1989/ 1990-1999/ 2000-2014) who play the key role for the smooth running of that chapter. The NCR chapter had a get-together at Chittaranjan Park, New Delhi on 16thApril, where 45 Praktanis were present. Mr Sharad Mirani, President NRVP, attended the function.
Doctors forum
NRVP is going to form a Doctors Forum. Dr Ashoke Ghosh (1970) has taken the initiative. The forum will organize medical camps in different places. They will serve the Vidyalaya and RKM Narendrapur as well. NRVP requests all its Doctor members to render support to this group. Dr Ghosh will be convenor of the forum. Dr Tushar Hazra (1974) and Dr Shambhunath Mukherjee (1984) has already given their consent to co-ordinate with Dr Ghosh.
Gifted land
Two of our Prakatanis – Mr. Surya Sarathi Barat, 1973 and Bikram Mukherjee, 1995 have offered two pieces of land one in Pailan and other at Sonarpur-Kalikapur.
Mr Barat is ready to handover the land any moment and the process in on. Mr Subhamoy Bhattyacharya, 1987 is looking after the land transfer process.
A delegation of Executive member led by President, NRVP went to see the property at Kalikapur recently.
We have received an application recently from Ashrama Praktani to utilize a land of 7 kottas at Mission Pally, Sonarpur which is owned by them. They want to donate the land to NRVP for building up an Old Age Home.
We have to decide what to do. We have not decided yet about the two lands at Pailan and Kalikapur and now the third offer has come.
We have to decide what is to be done with the land. If any batch takes the responsibility for utilization of the land on behalf of NRVP we have no objection. But land of Ashrama Praktani is to be utilized only for old age home. We can run the Kalikapur land as a medical unit if the Doctors forum of NRVP is ready to take the responsibility.
Our Dream
NRVP has been trying to launch a medical van with modern equipment which will move in the remote villages of Sunderbans, where people has to cover a long distance to get proper treatment. We have to collect at least Rs 35-40 lakhs for this purpose. I would request the Praktanis to take the initiative for this. Please take the initiative to talk to some corporate houses to take this endeavour as their CSR project.
NRVP also wants to adopt few villages which are arsenic or flouride prone. We also want to adopt villages in the remote areas of Sunderbans and arrange solar power there. I think any batch can do these type of activities on their own. NRVP will render all types of help. If you have suggestions on this issue please use our whatsapp group to initiate discussion.
Thank you
