Executive Committee Meeting: 2nd July 2023
1. Commencement of meeting by the Secretary, NRVP with heavy heart for the departed Praktanis (after the Reunion, 2022). Mr Arun Kumar Sarkar, Mr. Asesh Dutta, Mr. Swarnabha Biswas, Mr. Biswadeep Dutta, Mr Kaushik Sarkar, Dr. Dwijen Sarkar, Mr. Bimal Ganguly, Mr
Abhijit Bose and MrChandrasekhar Chattopadhyay have left us in this period. Two minute silence was observed by the House in their honour and remembrance.
2. Website design
Discussion on Website: Presentation by Mr Suvadeep Sarkar, Mr Abhraneel Chakraborty and Dr Akash Dasgupta. The following matters were discussed under this head:
2.a. Donation and life membership online payment through payment gateway implemented; will attract transaction charges, that will be explicitly displayed on the website as convenience fee to enable smooth reconciliation at our end.
2.b. Privacy concern on Search Praktani displaying fellow Praktani phone numbers was discussed at length and the need for implementation of 2-step verification with OTP validation was considered. 2-step verification shall require financial investment on the
website for sms bundle purchase.
2.c.Discussion on FCRA account permission for International payment gateway: Suvadeep has negotiated waiver of the refundable deposit that is usually required for international transactions . EC unanimously wants to go forward with the FCRA permission procedure to
enable foreign donations from Praktanis abroad.
2.d. Discussion on appointment of a full-time employee by NRVP to carry out day-to-day activities and website maintenance of the Praktani in terms of content development and updation.
2.e. Search Engine Optimisation for increased visibility of the website as a next step also considered.
2.f. It is observed that there was no data of events at the website after 2018. Suvadeep emphasised on the active participation of the Batch Coordinators for supplying of facts related to their batched . He also suggested to publish Praktani newsletter in digital form
once in two months. The house requested the President, Praktani to take an initiative in communication with the Batch Coordinators and if possible Batch Coordinators can be called at Narendrapur for a get together. A committee was formed for publication of bimonthly digital news letter from August, 2023. The member of the said committee are Mr Chandan Das, Mr Asit Motayed, Mr Somesh Bhattyacharya, Mr Nirmal Mirani, Mr Aruni Chakraborty and Mr Indradeep Bhattyacharya. Mr Aruni Chakraborty will be coordinator of the committee. He will have to keep close contact with the batch Coordinators for the contents of the news letter.
2.g. EC discussed the issue of the website at length and decided that financial investments are warranted on the website and shall be prioritised. The issue of FCRA account permission will be explored by the the Treasurer, NRVP within 31st July. The EC appreciated Suvadeep and his team for their effort to redesign the Praktani Website and EC will support them in all means. Mr Soumyajit Basak is included in the team of Suvadeep and henceforth the committee will meet virtually or physically at least twice a week to expedite the process.

3. EC reconstruction
3.a. Mr Anirban Bagchi, 1994 has been inducted as the Assistant Secretary, NRVP alongside Mr Prodyut Majumder, 1986. NRVP shall function with two Assistant Secretaries henceforth.
3.b. Mr Amitabha Das 1968, Mr Indradeep Bhattacharya 2002, Mr Deep Narayan Sarkar 1976 HS and Mr Soumyajit Basak, 1998 included in the list of permanent invitees to the EC, NRVP. Late Dr Dwijen Sarkar 1963 and Bikram Mukherjee 1995 excluded from the list of permanent invitees.
4. Praktani office
Clearance of Praktani office to be undertaken on 9th July in presence of Mr Amitava Das, Mr Sarad Mirani, Mr Aruni Chakraborty, Mr Amitava Bhattacharya, Mr Suvadeep Sarkar, Mr Abir Lal Mandal, Mr Anamitra Mondal, Dr Akash Dasgupta. Headmaster Maharaj will help this operation by providing two volunteers from Vidyalaya for cleaning purpose.
5. Swami Vivekananda’s Bhab Prachar
5.a. Swami Shastrajnananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur and Executive member of the Swami Vivekananda Bhab Prachar
Samiti run by Belur math was present at the EC meeting to enlight us how NRVP could be associated with Swamiji’s Bhab Prachar. Swami Shastrajnananda with his lucid language described the mission and vision of this activity and suggested us how we could associate ourselves with bhab prachar activities. He suggested us to start this venture in terms of essay competition or quiz competition with School students. He also suggested us to start any program from South 24 Parganas.
5.b. EC has decided to start this program with the Sitarampur Vivekananda Seva Pratishthan, Baruipur. EC formed a committee comprising of:

6. Vote of thanks was delivered by Swami Ishteshananda, Headmaster, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur
6.a. Headmaster Maharaj invited all the members to attend Prabhanandaji Memorial Football tournament involving 8 Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalayas to be held at Narendrapur on 22-23 July.
6.b. Headmaster Maharaj invited all members to the program organised by 1987 batch to felicitate succesful students of Madhyamik and Uccha Madhyamik examinations, 2023 in presence of Swami Subiranandaji Maharaj, General Secretary, Belur Math at 6:30pm on 23rd July at Swami Lokeshwarananda auditorium.
6.c. Headmaster Maharaj requested the Praktanis to come forward for Career counselling activities with a special mention from non-engineering non-medical background Praktanis who could guide the students to take up other career other than engineering and medical.
6.d. Headmaster Maharaj thanked all the Praktanis who attended today’s meeting and invited them for lunch served at Shivananda Bhaban.
