Aniruddha Das (Madhyamik-2004/ HS-2006)
We are proud to announce that our alumnus, Aniruddha Das (Madhyamik-2004/ HS-2006) has ventured into the world of documentary filmmaking with his remarkable feature film Made In Paradise. The film sheds light on the Changpa tribe of Ladakh, known for producing the world’s finest Pashmina.
Through this documentary, Aniruddha brings to light their unique nomadic lifestyle, their deep connection with the land and animals, and the delicate art of Pashmina harvesting. It’s his first feature-length film, and the story is especially close to his heart, offering a rare glimpse into this lesser-known world.
A special mention must go to Stanzin Lundup, another alumnus from the same batch, who played a pivotal role in the film’s success. Stanzin handled all local coordination, translations, and guided the crew through the challenging terrain of Ladakh. His invaluable support made the entire journey possible.
As a school, we are thrilled by their achievements and encourage everyone to watch and promote this incredible film, celebrating their incredible hard work and the preservation of a unique cultural heritage.

RKM Bengaluru Retreat (15-Sep-2024)
The retreat at Ramakrishna Math Basvanagudi, for Narendrapur ashrama alumnus was a long time thought over plan getting to see the light of the day on September 15th , Sunday .
A total of thirty-five alumnus from Vidyalaya as well as college turned up on that day at around 9 am. It was followed by a brief registration of the candidates participating and tasty snacks comprising of Upma, Kesari bath, dal vada, tea and coffee. This was followed by a song from a revered monk, Swami Sunischitananda (Sameer Maharaj, having an illustrious presence of 18 years at Narendrapur, between 2000 and 2018) , from the Agartala ashram.
Swami Vireshananda, manager Maharaj of Basvanagudi Math, rendered a talk the gist of which is the four key preaching of Bhagawan Sri Sri Ramakrishna. It can be stated as follows:
- Man, Mukh ek kara.
- Kamini Kanchan tyaag
- Ishware Anurag, vishaye viraag
- Shiva Gyane Jiva Seva.
We all had a tour of the ashrama campus, before again having tea/ coffee and biscuits. We were thrilled to see the Vidyarthi Mandiram, which is a like of our Belgharia students’ home. It houses many students who come from far flung areas of not only Karanataka but also from the rest of India. They abide by the strict discipline of the ashrama and hold a high reverence for the HOLY TRIO.
The ashrama is also sanctified by Sri Sri Maa Sarada’s stay for a brief period. The Mother rock is a special place in the ashrama which is visited by all devotees to offer their obeisance. We all posed for a picture at Mother Rock with a short sitting at the main shrine.
We all were taken to our ashrama days as we listened to the songs from a revered monk, the same ones we sang regularly in our ashrama life. This was followed by a brief talk by another revered monk on how to leverage the opportunity of coming together and get some solace out of it as well plan for a noble initiative, however small it is .
To end the day we had the much awaited sumptuous lunch with charchari, posto, chutney, rosomolai, sweets to name a few items as the list was really long . We had a small round table before dispersing, only to agree to meet again very soon and the probable agendas for the same.
